Hello! I’m Vanessa, but go by the name Phoenix Gray

I’m a freelance artist based in the town of Eastbourne (East Sussex, UK). I love depicting creatures and beings from different world mythologies, as well as exploring creature concepts inspired by anime, manga, video game culture, fantasy art and science fiction. The majority of my artwork is geared towards personal projects, but I do collaborate with other creatives, accept commissions, and facilitate artist-led workshops, as well as exhibit at group shows and conventions.

I enjoy working with traditional media and tools, but specialise in creating artwork using ink, pens and brushes on paper.

Alongside my monster illustrations and artworks, I enjoy Shodo, the art of Japanese calligraphy.
