Greek Myths & Legends
I’ve been fortunate that I have had the opportunity to travel and explore different Greek Islands such as Corfu, Rhodes, Santorini and Crete. During my times there, I have found the myths and legends of those islands both fascinating and wonderfully dark. Inspired by the stories and visual depictions of powerful gods, goddesses and monsters, I created thirty-one ink drawings of what I discovered.
These two details above feature my take on the savage Keres and Cyclops. The Keres were spirits that played an important role in the Iliad. They appeared during battles and scenes of violence, and controlled the destinies of heroes. The Cyclops is probably one of the most recognisable of mythical beings, from it’s single, orb-shaped eye. In the War of The Titans, they were known for forging weapons and armour for the gods.
